Great to have such a well organised and attended event in Taunton
As I’ve flagged up by email - my time was incorrect versus my (reliable) Garmin. Over a minute added to my race time. Was the chip activated at the start line or from 10am start time?

A fantastic, inclusive and well organised event
Ashamed of the littering of runners. So many gels wrappers discarded on the route - probably not visible to faster runners but we at the back noticed it. Perhaps because gels were handed out at Aid stations?
Great medal and T-shirt.
The crowd support was tremendous all around the route. Many thanks to the marshals and organisers
Lisa Denson
Brilliant event so well organised
Steve Crook
Enormously enjoyable
Excellent Marshalls

Timing was an issue
The chip timing is not accurate. The chip should start as you pass under the start gate and end as you pass the finish. The chip time was almost identical to the race time, and I passed the start gate a good 1m30 after the start gun went off. My watch agrees with this timing.
It would’ve been good to start people further back from the start arch so they can be running as they start the race. An alternative route to the start would help with that and would make the start funnel wider, which would have been an improvement.
Otherwise a lovely race, great marshals, awesome medals and a thoroughly enjoyable event!!
Well done!

Excellent Organised And Friendly Event
I have never done the Taunton Half before so was unsure what to expect however from the pre race communication, registration and actual race has been exceptional. So friendly from participants, marshals and spectators. The only small negative is having to share roads with entitled road users! Were on occasion a little aggressive! This hasn’t put me off participating again - just feel disappointed a small minority need to attempt to spoil an event that was well advertised with regards road closures. Thank you to the organisers for bringing back an exceptional local event

Exceptional
Organisation/ updates brilliant. Shout out to the Marshall, especially oake and shutewater hill were absolutely fabulous. Honestly, it was amazing x
Nick Adams
Excellent local event
Start funnels/pens could have been much better, great event though
Sarah Manning
Nice to see so many people in town enjoying the event
There were too many vehicles on the route. It became dangerous in some areas particularly the villages. Traffic needs to be held and those wanting to follow loved ones around the course should be discouraged from using the actual marathon route. The bottlenecks caused by the cars meant runners had to stop to allow the cars to pass. Ruined the course
Lucy Taylor
Absolutely amazing! Such a fantastic time bringing a community together, you did a fantastic job xx

I have previously ran the Taunton Half/Full Marathon and you guys have absolutely smashed it
I’m not usually a Half runner but this event was one I had missed since it stopped You have created an event with one of the best atmospheres I have attended and gave Taunton something to be proud of. The centre of the town
Was buzzing with a few locals saying to me that this event has made Taunton buzz again

Amazing morning!! Super atmosphere and very well organised.

The organisation five stars
The atmosphere was great, and there were many volunteers assisting with safety on the route. It would have been beneficial to have more water stops available. There were also numerous markers indicating the route direction.
Kevin Larcombe
Really enjoy the day happy vibes all around

Excellent event all round.
Everything was great. The only minor thing was at the start. It seemed as if there was a lack of organisation to get people in the right place for their finish time.
Once the pacers turned up which was near the start time people then could gauge where they needed to be.
If there was either approx finish times displayed on the side this would’ve helped or getting the pacers out 10 minutes earlier also would’ve helped.
One other minor thing, people were climbing over the fence to get to their start position. If there was some level of side access to prevent this next time I think this also would’ve helped.
From memory W-s-M half had the ability to access from the side.
To be clear though literally every other element was spot on, including collection of race numbers in the museum - great. Number of toilets - perfect
The atmosphere at the finish- wow! I felt like I was at one of the major marathons.
Congratulations for a well executed event

Excellent Event, well setup, course great.
Disappointing to see that over 300 people didn’t even start the race. I’m sure there were still plenty on the waiting list.

Loved it!
Lorraine Oswick
Excellent event..lovely to see so many supporters lining the course.
Maybe an additional stand handing out sweets?? Round about the 8 - 10 mile mark ... Loved the steel drummers could've done with something similar at the top of shutewater hill ...

Great event
As always very well organised, great support and amazing Marshalls. Easy to navigate and amazing support/ atmosphere.
Couple of things to consider for next time:
Starting pen was mad. I was near the back but had fast runners barging past as they couldn’t move up the pen before the start.
Water stations ran out of cups by the time us slower runners got there. I was lucky I had a bottle to fill up but others didn’t.
The timing went from fun time but it took nearly 4 mins for us to cross start line so big difference between garmin time and official time.
